Felicitas and Perpetua (d. 203) were early Christian martyrs. The story of their death in the arena during the reign of Septimus Severus has been preserved in a document known as the “Diary of Perpetua.” Their courage and faithful resolve as they faced death and the poignant tale of Felicitas giving birth in prison before her martyrdom (her child was placed with a Christian relative) is an incredible tale that has inspired many believers.
