You “old-timers” surely remember the band “Three Dog Night.” They had several radio “hits” — one of them being the song “Celebrate.”
While they certainly didn’t have Christianity in mind when they recorded/sang this catchy tune, “Celebrate” definitely has profound meaning for people that choose to enjoy this wonderful life we’ve been given! Ronald Reagan used to say, “Life is one grand, sweet song — so start the music!”
Things that facilitate celebrating the goodness of our loving God are:
- good, inspiring music
- revering our wonderful God by simply following His plans laid out in Scripture
- acknowledging that overall, life truly is good
- having a good laugh occasionally
Such things birth in our hearts a desire to celebrate this wonderful life we’ve been given.
The thing I want to leave you with is this: Jesus said “My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light,” (Matthew 11:30). Perhaps a little more levity in our life would help lessen the burdens we carry!
