Ecclesiastes 3:9-10 says, “What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men.”
In other words, “Is all this labor really worth it?” The answer comes in verse 11: “He has made everything beautiful in its time.”
Yes, our struggles, efforts, labor is worth it because God, in His time, turns it into something beautiful!
In 1978 Laurie and I bought a brand-new home in Alta Loma, CA. There was of course no landscaping — and the house was built on a riverbed!
I recall digging to install a sprinkler system for an entire day, and progressed only one foot! We eventually finished the trenches, installed the sprinklers, planted the grass seed, and our corner lot was transformed! In fact, it turned out so nice that the landscaping firm that laid out the basic design for the sprinkler system used our front yard as a model of landscaping beauty to show potential customers!
My point is this: Your toil now will bear fruit “in its time,” in God’s time. Keep at it!
